Tyler!

So...between facebook, e-mail, and this blog, I clearly can't keep my updates up-to-date! Since my last post (way back in March) a lot has changed. We welcomed our little son Tyler Ashton Croteau to our family on 9/29/09. He was born at 2:46 PM after a few short, painful hours of labor. He was 8 lbs. 1 oz and 20-1/4 inches long. He is absolutely beautiful and perfect! He is now 2 months old and is much bigger (we have an appt. on Monday to see how much he officially weighs now)! He is a great baby and has an easy-going temper, which we appreciate. I have recently resigned from my position as Comp. Health Planner at the Maine CDC. The commute is just WAY too long for me with a little one at home now, so I know I made the right decision. I am interviewing now for a CNA position in the Portland area as I finish nursing school. I am on track to finish in May 2011...only 2 semesters later than if I had stayed in the accelerated program. I love what I do and can't wait to be a nurse. I especially love being a mother and a wife to two of my favorite guys, Tyler and Keith. As the holidays are approaching, I am thankful for all that I have and feel blessed every day of my life. Happy Thanksgiving to all and I hope to post again sooner than in 6 months!

So I haven't posted in a while and have some updates. Keith and I are doing well and enjoying the first signs of spring. We have lost all of the snow on our lawn already and are already itching to put our deck furniture out!
We are also officially expecting our first child and I am due 9/22. I am 15 weeks this week and have been feeling great! I am definitely not showing at all, which I am sure makes it hard for Keith since he can't really "see" that I am pregnant, but we have seen the little spud a few times and there really is something in there! :-) We are very excited and can't wait to share our lives with a child and start our family.
Married life is fantastic as well. I am blessed to come home to my best friend every day (especially when he has dinner waiting)! I have also been busy with school taking two classes right now as I start my adventure of nursing school. Yes, for those wondering, I am still going to tackle school now that we are expecting, but might have to change my route of attack slightly. I anticipate to be done shortly after my original date and I will work hard to stick to that. Life will be busy but with the support of each other and our amazing family and friends, we will make it through this adventure and move on to our next one! Thank you to all who continue to support us and for those that are as eagerly anticipating the arrival of our little boy/girl as we are! FYI, we will not be finding out what we are having until the day the beautiful one arrives (sorry Nikki), so hold your questions and let the anticipation build! I will post some "belly" pictures once I have something more than just some "fat shifting" as my doctor currently describes it. I am still in that awkward phase of looking like I have put on a few pounds. Hopefully in a few weeks, I can have something to show for others! I will keep you all posted!

Bon Voyage 2008

A new year is upon us again and I am so excited for what is to come in 2009. I am taking a moment to reflect back on 2008, since so much has happened.
In April, I was promoted at my job and was given more responsibility within our program, a challenge I was more than ready to take.
Most importantly, I married the love of my life in 2008 on May 25th...the best day of my life.
I was introduced to a beautiful new nephew (Julian) the week before my wedding...what a beautiful child he is. A close call for my sister not making it to the wedding, kudos to her for being there, it meant so much to me.
After our honeymoon in Mexico and settling in for our first summer as husband and wife, we were introduced to a new niece (Emily) in August...the fourth child for my oldest sister. She is going to be a spoiled girl I think...I can't wait to teach her all that Auntie Megan knows!
Fall came quickly and with it came a decision to apply to nursing school. What the heck...I was tired of the LONG commute and have wanted to pursue nursing for quite a while. This was the perfect time for me to try. Little did I know that out of 530 applicants, I was one of only 30 accepted! Whoo-hoo...but now the decision to leave a full time job in an economy that is not too promising. I had a lot to figure out.
In early December, I was introduced to yet ANOTHER niece (Lily)...that makes a grand total of 7 nieces/nephews...phew! It is so wonderful to have kids in the family now and a piece of me realized this year that children are something I definitely want in my near future...I can't wait to be a mom.
I will be posting a few photos of the children later...they are all beautiful and healthy and are a ton of fun. I love being an aunt and Keith is a fantastic uncle and will be an even better dad!
So, December has come and gone and we waved goodbye to an exciting year.
2009 has many promising adventures for us. I will be leaving my job in the end of April (that can't come one day sooner....). I will be working part time while in school full time and will graduate with a BSN in August 2010. My parents are turning 60 this year! Yikes! I think I need to plan a bender for them, but I don't even know where to begin.
Who knows what this year holds that we aren't planning on, but we will take everything in stride! I look forward to this year and will try to have more exciting blogs...I need to touch my creative side of my brain more after reading some friend's blogs.
